Dennis Basso: A Master of Detailing, Voluminous Sleeves, and Colour

Dennis Basso is a fashion designer who has been at the forefront of luxury fashion for over four decades. His latest runway collection celebrated his fashion career while showcasing his mastery of design with a range of pieces that featured intricate detailing, voluminous sleeves, and bold colours.

The collection opened with two hooded coats in rich chocolate brown, setting the tone for a show that was all about opulence and sophistication. The bold use of colour throughout the collection was one of its defining features, with jewel tones and metallic accents adding a sense of drama and glamour including fur boleros in navy and emerald.

From sculpted velvet to duchess satin, the designer incorporated a range of fabrics that added depth and texture to the pieces. One of the standout pieces in the collection was a gold tweed pant suit with curly lamb sleeves.

One of the most striking features of Basso's collection was the use of voluminous sleeves. The designer's mutton-style sleeve treatments were a recurring feature throughout the show. The dramatic sleeves added a sense of grandeur to the formalwear pieces, creating a sense of opulence and drama that was hard to ignore. This design detail was particularly effective in pieces such as a sweeping gold opera coat worn by Beverly Johnson, which closed the show.
